Dr. Rafik Abdelsayed is a board-certified and diplomate by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology since 1991. He received his DDS and Master Degree with residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from Indiana University-Medical Center in 1990. Dr. Abdelsayed is Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and holds a joint appointment in the department of Anatomical and Surgical Pathology, Augusta University-Medical Center since 1996.
He serves as Director of the Surgical Pathology and Biopsy Services Laboratory at the Dental College of Georgia 1996-present. Additionally, he serves as a consultant to regional surgical pathology diagnostic services, and as a clinical consultant to dental clinicians, oral surgeons and medical and ENT physicians who refer their patients for consultation and biopsy procedures. Dr. Abdelsayed serves on several editorial boards of oral & maxillofacial pathology and dermatology journals.
